Course overview
The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely on heavy electric/hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out operational and repair activities including replacing components. This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.
It contains two mandatory units
- Preparing Heavy Electric/Hybrid Vehicles for Repair
- Heavy Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
Skills and knowledge of
- Making a heavy electric/hybrid vehicle “safe” to work on
- Reinstating a heavy electric/hybrid vehicle
- Working safely on a heavy electric/hybrid vehicle
- Using appropriate information, tools and equipment
- Removing and replacing (non live) high energy electrical system components
- Recording information and making suitable recommendations
- This includes Level 2 award in preparing heavy electric/hybrid vehicles for repair.
